Giant Community Center, Camp Hill. Come watch a short video and several slides on the White Cliffs on Conoy, close to Harrisburg along the Susquehanna River. Not as dramatic as Dover Cliffs in England, but our own local cliffs are leftovers from a limestone and dolomite quarry. Members that have visited are welcome to share their experiences.

Swatara Creek - Boathouse Park in Hershey to be closed for construction
More Info
Less Info
Boathouse Park in Hershey, which is on Swatara Creek, will be closed to the public for about 6 weeks from May 11 to June 26 for construction work to install a water pipeline under the creek. These dates may shift due to weather and other factors. I live close and use the park frequently and can monitor the closure and post updates. The park is owned by Derry Township and they may post updates in their weekly e-newsletter.
The next available takeout is about a mile downstream just above the dam and below the Route 39 bridge. It is the MANDATORY portage around the dam the left side of the river. If the river level is up, I would take out just below the bridge on the left side of the river and stay away from the dam.
